A brand new 140 bed hotel completed recently was the first new hotel to be built in Doncaster town for 40 years. Now open for business the new Premier Inn Hotel stands opposite Doncaster`s historic Minster on Church Way. Architecturally imposing with the external walls finished in a mixture of terracotta shingles and green copper strip cladding the hotel was designed by the architects Cartwright Pickard as a mixed use development with retail and leisure accomodation on the ground floor and office accomodation on the first floor. Danum Windows were chosen as specialist window contractor to manufacture and install the aluminium windows doors and screens to the whole building in a dark grey powder coat finish. Danum chose to use the Technal commercial aluminium system throughout and the following range of products were installed. Over 140no Technal FXi52 double glazed aluminium tilt and turn windows were installed to the hotel bedroom windows to five floors to provide easy cleaning to outside from inside. Severe weather rated FXi52 doors were installed to the bedroom balconies.
Nearly 600sq metres of Technal MX visible grid curtain wall glazed screens were installed to the ground and first floor areas. All these were double glazed in a mixture of laminated and toughened clear glass for security and safety. Technal CD commercial aluminium doors were installed to the ground floor in a variety of automatic sliding to the main entrance and in manual swing form to the ancillary doors. Sliding folding aluminium doors were also installed to the Table-Table restaurant front window on the ground floor for opening during summer evenings.
