Danum Windows were appointed a sub-contract specialist window fabricator by the main contractor GB Solutions to install aluminium windows and doors to a 13 storey block of apartments recently completed on the east side of Leeds. The apartment block, for Barratt Housing provides 450 units of residential accomodation and 70,000sq Ft of office space. Designed by DLA Architecture of Leeds the futuristic design was inspired by an artist and sculptor throughout the design process. Danum chose to manufacture the Technal commercial aluminium system and installed over 280 Technal high performance FXi65 casement windows with side hung and bottom hung open in vents to provide easy cleaning to outside from inside. Over 150 assorted double and single Technal FXi52 balcony doors were also installed. In addition 30no Technal MX curtain wall screens were installed to the balconies of the premier apartments. All the above were double for maximum heat retention in low-emissivity toughened glass with argon gas filled cavities, and all finished in a medium grey powder coat colour. High security aluminium commercial doors in the Technal CD system were installed to the main entrance.

The doors were complete with automatic swing door operators and remote entry system for 24 hour access.
